
DLP Real Estate Management Promotes Director of Operations to Area Vice President of Management
DLP Real Estate Management recently promoted one of its own, Tameka Woods, to Area Vice President of Management. Tameka had previously served as Director of Operations and has been employed with DLP for two years. Tameka’s wide range of experience in every type of real estate management role and her dedication to Delivering Wow (one of DLP’s Core Values), made her an ideal candidate for a senior leadership role.
Melanie French, President of DLP Real Estate Management comments, “Tameka’s promotion to Area Vice President is the result of her hard work, growth as a leader and executor of results. The performance of her communities and the growth of her team leaders is a testament to her own leadership style. I am so excited to once again have an internal DLP team member promoted to a senior leadership position.”
Tameka is thrilled to be promoted and welcomes her new responsibilities, some of which will include managing the financial performance of 20-30 multifamily assets, improving NOI, assisting in new acquisition opportunities, and consistently providing value-add opportunity assets. She is also eager to obtain her CPM (Certified Property Management) Designation Certification in the future.
Tameka strives to embody all of DLP’s core values but she especially resonates with GRIT. Tameka comments, “You can have all the talent, go all the places you want, but if you don’t have the tenacity to work hard, it’s not going to happen for you.”
Her favorite aspects about working at DLP includes leadership, collaboration, and learning opportunities. She values the authenticity, advice, and honesty that comes from CEO Don Wenner’s leadership. She is actively involved in the company’s Driven for Greatness program and applies every inspirational leadership book she reads, to her daily life. She enjoys that at DLP, there is always collaboration from coworkers, allowing for change and the challenge to encourage each other in the right direction.

When not traveling to her communities, Tameka spends her time at her home in Memphis, TN, where she enjoys bike riding, painting, and spending time with family and friends. She has a passion for the outdoors and recently has joined a biking club, “girls who bike.” She has a love of restoration and crafting in the form of furniture remodeling, especially preCOVID when she could visit thrift stores to take something old and make it look brand new.
Tameka’s promotion is a testament to DLP’s focus on hiring highly talented individuals through its Right Person Right Seat (RPRS), providing training for future leaders within the company, and promoting those team members.
